  2. "Company" refers to the service provider 'JJaekJJaek'.
  3. "User" refers to any person who agrees to these Terms and uses the Service. This Service can be used without separate account registration.
  4. "Content" refers to all output created by users through the Service, including scanned images, PDF documents, and edited images.

Article 3. Effect and Amendment of Terms

  1. The Company will post the contents of these Terms in the settings screen or linked screen within the Service so that users can easily access them.
  2. The Company may amend these Terms to the extent permitted by applicable laws.
  3. When amending these Terms, the Company will publicly announce the amendment, along with its effective date and reasons, at least 7 days before the effective date. However, for amendments that are unfavorable to users, a minimum grace period of 30 days will be provided.
  4. If a user does not agree to the amended Terms, the user may discontinue the use of the Service.

Article 4. Formation of Service Agreement

  1. The service agreement is formed when the user installs the app and agrees to these Terms. This Service can be used without separate account registration.
  2. Users may terminate the service agreement at any time by deleting (uninstalling) the app.
  3. The Company may restrict the use of the Service in the following cases:
    • Using automated means (macros, bots, etc.) to use the Service abnormally
    • Interfering with the stable operation of the Service
    • Engaging in any other acts that violate applicable laws

Article 5. Privacy and Data Processing

  1. The Company strives to protect users' personal information in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act and other applicable laws. For details, please refer to our Privacy Policy.
  2. [Local Data Storage] All documents, images, and recognized text outputs (OCR) scanned, edited, and created by users through the Service are stored only in the local storage of the user's device and are not transmitted to or uploaded to the Company's servers.
  3. [Data Ownership] Ownership of all content (scanned images, PDFs, etc.) created by users through the Service belongs entirely to the user.
  4. [Data Backup] The Company does not provide backup services for users' local data. The Company is not responsible for data loss due to device replacement, app deletion, or similar causes.
  5. [Anonymous Diagnostic Data Collection for App Stability] To ensure stable operation and quality improvement of the Service, the Company may automatically collect app crash information, device state information, and anonymous usage statistics through Google Firebase (Crashlytics, Analytics, Performance Monitoring). The information collected does not personally identify users and is used solely for bug fixing and service improvement purposes. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for details on the items collected.

Article 6. Service Provision and Advertising

  1. The Company provides users with the following services:
    • Document scanning using camera or gallery
    • In-document text recognition and extraction (OCR)
    • Editing, enhancement, and filter application for scanned images
    • Image to PDF conversion and export
    • Folder-based organization and management of scanned documents
    • Sharing and saving of scanned documents
  2. [Advertising] The Company may display banner ads and rewarded ads (Google AdMob, etc.) on service screens and pop-ups in connection with the operation of the Service. Users agree to the display of such advertisements when using the Service.
  3. [Rewarded Ads] Users may watch rewarded ads to access certain features (e.g., ad-free export). The availability and rewards of rewarded ads may vary depending on the ad network, and the Company does not guarantee them.

Article 7. Paid Services and Refunds

  1. [Content of Paid Services] The Company may provide paid features, such as a 'Premium Purchase' that permanently removes advertisements, via in-app purchasing.
  2. [Refunds within 48 Hours] Users can easily and instantly request a refund directly through the Google Play Store app (Payments & subscriptions menu) within 48 hours of purchase.
  3. [Restrictions on Refunds after 48 Hours] While refunds are generally possible up to 7 days according to consumer protection laws, the 'Premium Purchase' in this app provides immediate access and consumption of digital goods (e.g., ad removal). Therefore, refunds after 48 hours are restricted in the following cases:
    • When the value of the digital goods has significantly decreased due to the user's immediate consumption (i.e., premium benefits were applied immediately upon purchase).
    • Change of mind without demonstrating a critical defect or special circumstance with the app.
(Refund requests made after the initial 48-hour window may be denied based on these restrictions.)
  4. [How to Request a Refund] If the Google Play automatic refund period has passed, users who wish to request a refund must do so via the in-app menu ('Settings > Info > Cancel & Refund Purchase'). Users must attach the transaction receipt (GPA number) and a specific reason for the refund, and submit it to the Company's email (jcompany.develop@gmail.com).
  5. [Revocation of Access] Upon completion of a refund, the Company may verify the status with Google Play during app startup and immediately revoke the user's access to the paid features.

Article 8. User Obligations

Users shall not engage in the following activities:

Article 9. Intellectual Property Rights

  1. All intellectual property rights in the software, design, logos, icons, text, images, and other content included in the Service belong to the Company.
  2. Ownership of content (scanned images, PDF documents, etc.) directly created by users through the Service belongs to the user.
  3. Users may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from all or part of the Service without the prior written consent of the Company.

Article 10. Limitation of Liability and Disclaimers

  1. [Scan and OCR Results Disclaimer] The results of document scanning, in-document text recognition (OCR), image enhancement, PDF conversion, and other outputs provided by this Service are processed by automated algorithms (such as ML/AI). The Company does not guarantee 100% accuracy of text recognition, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose of the results, and is not liable for any damages arising from misrecognition or the use of results as substitutes for legal documents, notarized documents, or similar official records.
  2. [Data Loss] The Company is not responsible for local data loss caused by device errors, app deletion, device replacement, or similar causes.
  3. [Data Loss Due to App Updates] Scanned documents, images, settings, and other data stored on the user's device may be modified, corrupted, or lost during app updates (version upgrades). The Company is not responsible for data loss caused by updates, and users are encouraged to back up important data separately.
  4. [Program Crashes and Errors] While the Company makes its best efforts to ensure stable operation of the Service, it is not responsible for data loss or work interruption caused by software errors such as crashes, freezing, or abnormal termination that may occur during app use.
  5. [Device Compatibility] The Service does not guarantee perfect compatibility with all devices and operating system (OS) versions. The Company is not responsible for data loss or functional impairment caused by OS updates, device specifications, manufacturer-specific custom settings, or similar factors.

  2. If the Company needs to change or discontinue all or part of the Service, it will notify users in advance through in-app notices.
  3. The Company may modify, suspend, or change all or part of the Service provided free of charge due to operational or policy needs, and the Company will not provide separate compensation to users unless otherwise provided by applicable law.

Article 12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

  1. Any disputes between the Company and users shall be governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea.
  2. Any litigation arising from the use of the Service shall be filed with the competent court under the Civil Procedure Act of the Republic of Korea.
